Maria’s Journey: From Code to Coaching

Every great fitness platform has a dedicated team passionate about your success. How did Mywowfit Head of Training, Maria, become a fitness leader? It’s an inspiring story of transformation! Maria transitioned from software engineering to fitness after motherhood, blending her analytical mind with a passion for wellness. Driven by this change, she earned multiple certifications, designing customized programs with clear, consistent instructions.
Maria, Head of Training, Mywowfit
I come from a background in IT. I'm a software engineer and when I became a mom, I didn't have that much time, I didn't want to devote all my time to programming. It's very time-consuming and stressful. So I wanted to switch careers. So I started training every day and getting to know the logic and science behind fitness. So then I became certified and I started applying everything that I learned to my training, seeing great results.
Maria’s commitment to continuous improvement is evident in her pursuit of certifications in sports nutrition and functional training, and her NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) certification. NASM provided Maria with invaluable online training resources and industry-current methodologies.
After I got my certifications in sports nutrition and in functional training, I wanted to get certified in the US. So NASM was the most prestigious certification in the United States, and I became certified with them. They talk a lot about the setup and how to do a good online session. NASM is not only very prestigious but also up-to-date with the market and the industry.

Training Methodology Philosophy: Two Pillars of Success

Technical expertise

The first pillar, technical expertise, ensures that every program is safe, effective, and customized to your individual needs. This includes a focus on proper form, progressive overload (gradually increasing the intensity of your workouts), and evidence-based training principles. We use a digital approach to make every step easy for you. Mywowfit is a personal fitness coach in your smartphone .

Client Motivation

The second pillar, client motivation, is all about helping you stay engaged, consistent, and driven. This includes active coaching through regular communication, encouragement, and accountability. We understand that the fitness coach must act with professionalism. Our online fitness instructor is here for you.

Of course, experience matters most—but I also value how much emphasis is placed on the human side of training. A good certification program teaches not just technique, but also how to approach people, motivate them, set meaningful goals, and build long-term strategies that keep them coming back. That’s why I look for trainers who combine strong credentials and experience with great energy, communication skills, and the ability to truly educate and inspire.

Consistency is the Key

One core tenet of Mywowfit’s philosophy is that consistency is the only way to achieve fitness results. We help you build sustainable habits, making fitness a lifestyle, not just a quick fix. Maria knows, that this dedication brings results.

Active Coaching

We understand that online training requires active coaching. That is why Mywowfit’s trainers are always available for you. Our trainers are in constant communication with clients through text and encouragement, which offers valuable feedback and support, ensuring you stay on track. Mywowfit helps you get customized support.

Prioritizing Core Strength

Recognizing that a strong core is the foundation for all exercises, Mywowfit’s programs emphasize core strength training. How to do online personal training effectively is very easy with Mywowfit! We also help with the adaptability.
Maria, Head of Training, Mywowfit
My first approach is always to focus on the core. I believe the core is the foundation for everything else—if it’s strong, it supports better squats, better posture, and overall progress. But without a strong core, everything else becomes limited. That’s why I often dedicate a third or more of each session to core work, using a variety of exercises like planks, crunches, and movements that challenge balance and stability.
To make your experience even smoother, Mywowfit seamlessly integrates trainer-led workout plans and comprehensive support, all accessible via our user-friendly app. You can also connect with your certified online fitness instructor for 1-on-1 live training sessions. Whether you choose to connect with your fitness coach via Google Meet, Zoom, or our dedicated app, we offer the flexibility to make fitness fit seamlessly into your life.

Professionalism, Safety, and Liability

In Mywowfit your safety, well-being, and professionalism take precedence. We understand that choosing an online fitness instructor is a deeply personal decision. That’s why we’ve created an environment where transparency, expertise, and genuine care are at the forefront. Mywowfit commitment extends beyond providing workout routines; it’s about fostering a culture of support and empowerment that helps you achieve sustainable results. We also ensure accountability and help you find the motivation you need.

NASM Partnership and Continuing Education

Mywowfit’s commitment to professionalism extends beyond the hiring process. The company is committed to a partnership with NASM, and the trainers are always getting new certifications to improve their knowledge, skills, and techniques. It ensures a high level of reliability.
Maria, Head of Training, Mywowfit
Of course, I look at certifications and experience—those are essential. But since our trainers come from all over the world, I may not be familiar with every certification or what it involves. That’s why I place a lot of value on real-world experience. I want to see that someone has been in the fitness field for a while, that they live the lifestyle themselves. If they have a presence on social media or clearly look the part, it shows they’re committed. But beyond that, I pay close attention to how they communicate. You can tell right away if someone has experience by how they speak and connect with others. A great trainer is more than just an instructor—they’re an educator, a motivator, and a people person. They need to be able to relate to clients of all backgrounds, make them feel welcome, and inspire them to keep showing up.

Professional Boundaries

Mywowfit emphasizes the importance of maintaining professional boundaries with clients to avoid personal conflicts. This protects both the trainer and the client, ensuring a positive and productive training relationship. This contributes to flexibility.
Maria, Head of Training, Mywowfit
With time, I’ve learned how important it is to create a warm, supportive connection with clients—while also keeping healthy professional boundaries. Sometimes clients become emotionally attached to their trainer, especially when they're going through something personal like injury recovery or a weight loss journey. It’s a privilege to be part of that, and I truly care about each person I work with. But I’ve also learned that staying grounded in a professional role helps avoid misunderstandings. If something doesn’t go as expected, I try to respond with empathy, explain clearly, and not take things personally. It’s about being kind and caring, while still maintaining clarity and trust in the relationship.

The Power of Personal Experience

To illustrate the depth of Mywowfit’s expertise, take Maria’s story—she successfully helped a client recover from a runner’s knee injury, allowing her to return to running pain-free. It’s a great example of not just technical knowledge, but the adaptability and care our trainers bring to each session. At Mywowfit, your safety always comes first. We focus on proper form, tailor every program to your unique needs, and maintain ongoing communication to make sure you feel supported every step of the way. Everything we do is designed to be clear, accessible, and convenient—so that fitness fits into your life, not the other way around. We're not just helping people get stronger; we're helping them feel better, move better, and live better—one transformation at a time.

Industry Trends and the Future of Fitness

The fitness industry is constantly evolving, with new innovations and technologies emerging all the time. At Mywowfit, we’re always looking ahead, embracing trends and adopting cutting-edge tools to enhance your experience. Mywowfit combines all the innovations! It’s also important to mention the benefits of online personal training.
AI-Powered Fitness: We’re genuinely excited about how AI is starting to shape the future of fitness. From personalized workout suggestions to smart motivation tools, artificial intelligence is making training more efficient and accessible than ever. But even in a world of high-tech solutions, one thing remains irreplaceable: the human connection.
At Mywowfit, we believe that real transformation comes not just from data or algorithms—but from feeling seen, heard, and supported. That’s why our trainers, like Maria, don’t just deliver workouts—they guide, motivate, and adapt to your real-life needs in real time. AI can support your journey, but it’s the human touch that keeps you coming back, feeling empowered and connected.
  • The future of fitness is here—and we’re ready for it, with the best of both worlds.
  • Growing Participation: The fitness industry is experiencing significant growth, with more and more people participating in physical activities. This trend reflects a growing awareness of the importance of health and well-being.
Maria, Head of Training, Mywowfit
I think AI will play a big role in the future of fitness. We're likely to see systems that combine personalized plans with some kind of motivational component—maybe a virtual coach or voice that keeps people engaged. It’ll be a blend of structured programs and human-like interaction, which helps with consistency. They’re already using tech that pretends to scan your body or generate personalized stats—things people naturally respond to. And behind it all is AI, pulling in vast amounts of information to keep users motivated . At the same time, the fitness industry itself is booming. More people are training than ever before, marathon participation is breaking records, and humans are running faster than at any point in history. The message is clear: the future is movement, and the future is fitness.

Maria, Head of Training, Mywowfit
I was always pushing for more new things, trying to talk to the other trainers. And we saw also good results in some of the things that I was proposing. And then I became, you know, more of a manager of the rest of the trainers. But I'm still a trainer. I'm still in contact with clients training all the time. So I always stay in touch with that side. I think it's important to, you know, as you're leading a group of people to be part of that. To always know what they need and be able to be a better manager or leader to them.
